Our third outing of 2024 was a morning event at the Strand Golf Club on the 17^th March – and a incredibly blustery morning’s golf it was ! The photograph above does not do credit to the zephyr-like winds that prevailed.

Oblivious to the wind was John Sheraton who racked up 37 points and with this, the E V Dichmont Trophy. Second on 31 points were Hugh Crichton-Stuart and Enver Maneveld. Nearest the pins – on the very tricky 3rd hole was Mark Douglas and the almost impossible 17^th was Ale Bonora.

Our next outing is the annual trip up the West Coast to Langebaan over the weekend of the 13^th and 14^th April, the Goodwin Challenge on the Saturday morning where we have 25 players confirmed for the 12 pairings ( so if anyone knows that they’re not feeling well on the 12^th April please let us know asap ) and the monthly outing on the 14^th April.

We sent the above pic of to the Pro-Shop to help our golfer and asked them what he was doing wrong in an effort to improve his golf……the reply has just been received and they asked whether they could rather show what he is doing right as this would not take quite so long!

Next event in May, the now called Woggie & Jackers Day at Westlake on the 12^th May … please diarise and start entering to the Hout Bay GC e-mail… it’s always something different and a lot of fun.
