A surprisingly dry-ish course awaited us at King David Mowbray Golf Club on the 10th August after really heavy rains the day and night before.
A few puddles on the fairway did not worry our winner of the Val O’Riley Trophy, Craig Beckwith who recorded 38 points. And at last, he wins a trophy at Hout Bay GC after many many years of trying! Well done Becky. Second on 37 points was Carlo Prins and third with 36 points, Pascal Jonathan.
Craig Cerff entered the final of the Richie Gold Shield KO competition beating Nathier Fortune. We now await the winner of the other semi-final between Jos Hurn and Carl Schreuder.
Our next outing is on the morning of the 24th August at Clovelly Golf Club – this being the postponed outing from 13 July due to a WP Golf Union competition taking precedence! But understandably so !
Scorecard Ruling:
- Most course scorecards have 3 boxes for handicaps, Handicap Index (HI), Course Handicap (CH) and Playing Handicap (PH).
- Please use these boxes to add your HI, CH and your PH for the day and stipulate the colour tee you will be playing off (R/B/W/Y)
- For those of you who have 2/4 shot penalties, could you please make sure that you minus these penalties and stipulate it as your PH.
- All 4 balls will need to hand in 2, fully completed (as per above) and signed scorecards.
- All rounds should be opened and completed in the handicap app.
- This all for transparency and to make sure points are allocated correctly and there are no discrepancies.
- Failure to adhere to the above could result in disqualification from the round or any running competition.
Tramway Dinner 2025
Please be aware that this year’s Tramway Dinner has had to be scheduled on the Saturday night – 29 November 2025 – due to a rather busy period of events at the Westlake Golf Club. This has of course, has its benefits as there might be the opportunity not to have to go home that night and then be able to move straight into “chapel” on Sunday morning.
