What a brilliant weekend at Langebaan at the beginning of the month, the weather was glorious with no wind at all on both the Saturday and Sunday. The course was in magnificent condition which no doubt helped our twelve pairings as Hout Bay Golf Club were triumphant in the Goodwin Challenge against Langebaan by 7 matches to 5. All matches were played in the greatest of spirit and there was great camaraderie after the golf.
As mentioned, the fine weather continued on Sunday, with Enver Maneveld winning on a count-out with 39 points, and with this, the bright and shiny P P Pot (courtesy of Mrs Poggenpoel). Counted out was John Philander, and joint third on 38 points were Denzil Burger and John Sheraton.
