A very busy month for Hout Bay Golf Club with two outings. First was the annual ( now ) Woggie & Jackers Day at Westlake on the 12th May where after the draw for partners was performed whilst the members were out on the course the winners on a collective 129 points were : Mark Douglas, Graham Bradshaw, Gary Twiss and Graham Shilstone – no 2 shot penalty to apply here.
Then onto the beautiful Erinvale course the following Sunday with weather to match the surroundings…..and taking full advantage of the conditions and the winner of the Percy W Day Trophy on an impressive 47 points was committee member Chris Boyes who shot a 76 off his handicap of 14!!! Second on 41 points was Wes Cowan ( 14 ) and third Nathier Fortune on 39 points.
The turnout at Erinvale was equally impressive with 47 golfers – let’s hope this continues or was this due to the venue ?
Next outing is a morning tee-off at Devon Vale on the 9th June … and we have booked for 56 golfers. Green fees will be R375 for non-members and R300 for Devon Vale members.
